Help! My Vintage Omega Watch

Hello Everyone. I'm not an expert on watches but I've recently aquired a vintage Omega Deville. I had my local watch repairman look at it and open it and the Reference No. ST 156.0001 was written inside. Can any experts please tell me more about this model I would be every so gratelful. Also the watchman said that its a very rare and unusual Omega because it has a Rectangular shaped face and he hasn't seen alot of Omegas with the face shape. also it has a deep blue face with a date window at 3 o'clock and no seconds hand.

Also the watch has been severely water damaged inside so the parts are rusted. My watchman sent it to Omega in switzerland to get a restoration quote and they said $1600. Its quite alot of money. So my next question is do you think its worth it to get it restored or should I just buy another omega watch. I know you can get a second hand Omegas cheaper than $1600. What would you guys do? any opinions will be greatly apreciated. Thanks Rani
