First let me commend you on your good taste. I've got one of those 751 Connies and I think they're really cool watches. I love the cushion/tonneau shape and the day date feature. With that fine movement, you're really getting Rolex quality for pennies on the dollar. I like my Speedmaster Pro better, but I think the Connie is a higher quality piece. right down to the applied logo and brand name.
Watches that are redialed or polished are far from fake, but you should take that work into account with the purchase price.
