Omega Losing Time / SCAMMED BY EBAY
In Response To: Re: Omega Losing Time ()

Rather depressingly I took the watch into a local jewellers for a second opinion (Goldsmiths would not touch it due to the lack of serial number), he opened it up and revealed a £4 Chinese movement NOT an Omega. Whilst not an expert on fakes I am shocked at just how realistic this one is.

My girlfriend bought this for me as a present through ebay (there were no papers). If only I had known she wanted to get me a watch I would have warned her....

She paid £360 for a fake Omega (ouch) - I will be telling her this informaiton tonight. Not looking forward to it, still it was a nice idea...!!

I guess we all know this (or should do!) but the moral of the story is NEVER buy a watch off ebay unless it is 100% genuine. This seller looks to have worded the advert in such a way that I fear we may not have a leg to stand on with regards recovering money. It also looks quite an elaborate scam with the seller have 100% positive feedback.

For anyone Interested I can post the advert...

Thanks for your help with this.
