Hi Chris,

I'd cut out the middle man & send the watch directly to Switzerland myself.

According to the website Omega ( Switzerland ) will charge 440 CHF ( about 370 USD ) for the job ( Link Here - the PloProf has a 1002 movement which is classed as a Cat 2 Old Mechanical Mvmnt

If you choose to let Omega NJ send it to Switzerland, I'd ask them what their mark up is & then decide if that is worth the extra security of them sending the watch.

Obviously if they can do the job locally in the US for less than $370, I'd use them.

Although I live in Germany ( which borders on Switzerland ) I have the same problem here with postage. I sent my watch via Registered Post. It arrived fine.

I've also sold a few watches to guys in the USA. I can't send a watch ( at a reasonable price ) that is insured for more than 500 Euros. I ask my buyers to trust me & send it via registered post. I've never had a problem.
