Desmond, thanks for all your help on this one. I went ahead and bought it anyway. It's kind of interesting, because I was originally going for a Longines, on the basis of the slim design on some models. I became sidetracked by Omega somehow, but this one here is almost like a "Longined" Omega - very slim. It's also in near perfect condition - the observatory and stars on the back are hardly worn at all. Incidentally, the info on the web re movements / watches etc is quite fascinating - but it must be a minefield for cheap copies and so on.
