I agree. The outer coating actually only adds a very minimal amount of additional glare reduction when compared to the inner coating alone. I don't like outer AR coatings since the "easy to scratch" factor offsets any minor additional glare reduction. To me it just doesn't seem practical to put something that will easily scratch (AR coating) on the outside of something that's extremely difficult to scratch (sapphire crystal).

Just my opinion...
