Not Crazy At All...

: this might sound crazy but!... i have a new
: 2254. seamaster and it really, really! looks
: like there is a piece of lint or string in
: the crystal itself, like it was trapped
: inside of the crystal in the process of the
: product of the crystal. has anybody heard or
: seen in person this miss in quality
: control... or did somebody pop the bezel and
: crystal open??? it really looks like it is
: in cased in it. its not for sure on the
: surface but, it looks like it's not really
: under the cystal between the dial???????

I sent a 2254.50 back for warranty repair, and when it came back it had several pieces of lint and dust on the dial. One piece was so large that it was as long as the "S" in the word "Seamaster". I sent it back yet again after e-mailing Omega about my disgust with their service center here in the US. It came back without the dust and lint on the dial.

I have also read of people going into AD's and noticing brand new watches in the display cases having some dust on the dial. This is really a quality control issue with Omega. After reading your other post, I don't know if your watch is actually new and just came from the factory with dust on it, or whether it was sent back for repairs and Omega USA once again managed to leave dust particles on the dial. I can tell you that, in reading lots of posts on various forums over the years, there are a lot of people who complain about this very issue. I don't think it's unreasonable for you to expect to receive your four figure watch back with all dust particles absent.
