Re: Some questions about my Seamaster 2254.50.00

: Hi everyone,

: I just bought my SMP and I have a few
: questions: 1) It gains +5 seconds a day. I
: still have to experiment on how I leave it
: at night. Is this within the limits? This is
: my first automatic, so I am not sure what to
: expect.

Seems borderline. Personally, I never get to check this as I remove my watch sometimes for a few days (before any real issue with accuracy can manifest itself). When I put the watch back on, I have to reset, etc.

: 2) Can I go Scuba diving with this watch? What
: do you recommend?

Of course. However, this will contribute to the watch aging faster and needing it serviced more often with seawater, etc. contact with finish, and operation of bezel.

: 3) How often do I need to service it?

Not sure about Omegas, I am servicing my Rolex Sub about every 8-10 years, but I don't dive with it or even take it into the pool or shower. I am sure you will get answers about Omega servicing, but I would guess every 3-5 years to be safe. Certainly, 10 years (without diving in ocean, excessive wear) would be reasonable.

: Thanks in advance,

: Dennis
