Re: Some questions about my Seamaster 2254.50.00

: Hi everyone,

: I just bought my SMP and I have a few
: questions: 1) It gains +5 seconds a day. I
: still have to experiment on how I leave it
: at night. Is this within the limits? This is
: my first automatic, so I am not sure what to
: expect.

Yes, the COSC chronometer specifications for your watch are -4 to +6 seconds per day. Since every mechanical watch is different, you can experiment with different overnight positions to find out which position works best for your watch. If the watch gains 5 sec/day while on your wrist, you may find an overnight position that actually causes it to lose time. This will balance out some of time gained during the day.

: 2) Can I go Scuba diving with this watch? What
: do you recommend?

Sure, just don't go deeper than 300 meters.

: 3) How often do I need to service it?

Omega recommends every 4-5 years for their automatic non-co-axial watches.
