Might just be magnetized

: Is getting a new 2254.50 that runs 6 minutes
: fast an hour shocking to anyone else? I then
: checked a "luxury watch survey"
: someone posted on E-Bay and was stunned to
: see how many quality watches--10 to 25% are
: defective. I had no idea quality timepieces
: are just as unreliable as cars!

It might be just magnetized, which is not a defect. At any rate, call the ad that sold it to you. He should replace it with no questions. And no, its not shocking. These are mechanical timepieces and yes there are lemons out there, just like automobiles or anything else that is mechanical.
