I wuz taken!!!!

Well, not recently. . .

What was the worst purchase that you ever made -- and didn't get out of?

I have had several watches I purchased that were not running, and I managed to send them back and get my money back.

But sometimes, I got exactly what I was looking at -- and it was just wrong.

This is an Omega movement. In a US-origin case. With a bezel pasted on and a crystal forced on. With a badly done redial and mismatched hands. I blame my purchase on the very unreliable Price Guide to Watches by Cooksey Shugart and cohorts, which listed this watch. Omega never made a watch like this -- not even close.

I bought it at a glance in the book with a last minute bid and no other research. When I got it, it looked just like the photo -- which actually showed it to be a POS if I hadn't been in a hurry. I think I will sacrifice this and make it a parts watch.

What's your worst?
