Re: What attracted you to Omega and to (mechanical) watches?

: That's my story . . . . so, the question(s) of the day:

: -- why do you like watches?
: -- why manuals/automatics/tuning forks/kinetic quartz/quartz, what
: is your preference?
: -- why Omega?

: Sam aka Hewybaby

I like watches because 1)Its really the only "Man Jewelry" thats traditionally appropriate, other than a wedding ring, 2)They are useful in telling date, time, etc. and no, I don't use my cell phone to tell the time, 3)The range of possibilites is endless for style, type, size, price, function, etc. so there is something for everyone.

Mechanical watches are my preference. Manual or auto, makes no difference. I guess im kinda old fashioned and mechanically inclined. What better combination than a mechanical watch.

I chose Omega over Rolex and Tag when I was searching for my first "fine" watch. Since then I have never regretted that decision, and every day of ownership solidifies this position. Now I can honestly say I will never own either of the two that got me looking in the first place, unless they are a gift. At present I can't think of another watch brand that offers as many choices as Omega does, with equal or better quality and price. Its astounding that they are able to maintain such a range of options for everyone. I am proud to say I own Omega watches.
