Re: Omega - Presentation vs. "Regular"

: So on the two that you own, the only difference is the words on the
: back of the case? I mean, the movement/dial/etc. is the same?
: I'm hoping that Omega didn't make cheap versions of their
: watches to sell as parting gifts ("YOUR LOGO HERE," or
: something like that).

One I own is a Omega Constellation that "had" a inscription in the caseback but it was an older watch and the initials had a lot of wear and were
easily buffed out. The other is a Speedmaster Reduced, also with initials in the caseback. Those initials are hand ingraved and nearly impossible
to remove. They are deep and large and I'm not even going to try to remove them. If you are wearing the watch you can't see them anyway.
I think, I may be wrong, that the watches you see personalized or engraved are just regular Omega models that were bought and presented
to retirees or personalized for gifts. Most are fairly common models from what I've seen. Some are quite special in their own right being gold
or other precious metals that were very expensive watches. Its my opinion that Omega didn't make an el cheapo "presentation" grade watch.

ps
opps, I had one more I forgot about. A Universal with lovely engraving in the caseback. Its a 18kt gold model.
