I usually just snug it down and not too tight. I figure the gasket doesnt need a lot of pressure to seal. I just worry about cross-threading even though I try to be carefull. I understand though that the stem tube can be replaced on a watch if it should ever need it. Its better than replacing the case. I dont even want to know what that costs.
