New SMP loses 5 secs/day. Is this OK?

Hi,
I'm thrilled with my 2531.80 SMP which I bought from Geneva last week. But, sadly it's losing 5 seconds a day - I was hoping that if it wasn't accurate then at least it would gain - I could then avoid being late for things!
So is there any way I can get the watch to gain time overnight when I'm not wearing it? Is a loss of 5 seconds per day unacceptable? I don't want to open it up and have the movement adjusted if I can avoid it, because it will mess with the seals etc, I think. Nothing like OEM condition - unless it's not accurate! Any thoughts/advice welcome. Cheers,
John
