SMP NASA Flight Qualified ?

Hello everyone,

I have been reading about the SMP for only a couple of months now and I have just bought my first one with the display back. I read somewhere, and the fact that the case back does not say so, that the SMP with the display back is not NASA flight qualified. I figure the reason is because of the backing. I guess I was wondering if this was the only reason. In other words, if the backing was to be replaced with the dust cover and solid steel backing, would it then be NASA flight qualified? I realize that this may be a dumb question, and I do not intend to have the backing replaced on the watch I bought, but it was just something I was thinking about.

Thank you for all your expertise and insights.

Chris
