Speedmaster Display Back not NASA Flight Qualified

That model is NOT certified for use by NASA because NASA does not have any reason to certify models that they have no reason to use. The display back version is mostly bought by collectors and desk jockeys.

But to pursue your line of thinking, if anybody ever did decide to try NASA certifying it, you are correct that the lack of magnetic shielding would probably prevent it from passing.
