Counterfeit Watchers Discussion Forum

A forum for identifying and avoiding wholly or partially non-authentic wristwatches -- including counterfeit, replica, Frankenwatches and other fake or bastardized pieces. Our objective here is to DISCOURAGE the sales and purchase of counterfeit wristwatch and jewelry products. It is also for helping people identify watches that are mostly authentic, but have been: altered for personal customization, repaired with inappropriate parts or modified to be passed off as more valuable pieces.

Including a photo of the piece you are talking about ALWAYS helps! You can learn how to post a photo here: How To Include Photos In Your Postings. 'For sale' postings, commercial solicitation and ads are not allowed. Links to Internet auctions are acceptable only if their purpose is to question the authenticity of a product or provide new clues for identifying counterfeit products. Links that appear to be 'shills' promoting the sale of counterfeit products will be deleted. Links to websites of sellers of counterfeit items are not permitted -- we know they are out there and do not need to be encouraging them by sending traffic to their sites. Privacy, additional policies and administrivia are covered in the Terms of Use.

: That's fine. But based on your numbers, your
: price was only 30% off retail. There are
: ways to get an OMEGA watch from an
: AUTHORIZED dealer for at least that much
: off. So you gained nothing and lost the
: factory warranty by going through that
: cut-rate dealer.
humm, actually is 39% off on $2595 retail. And i tried buying it from 2 authorized dealers in NY, and one gave me a discount of only 1999 and the other only discount of 2099 (after a lot of bargaining), and i had to pay the TAX of 7% as well! Which is too much.

: You are completely incorrect about that. You do
: NOT need that card to have OMEGA repair your
: watch at your own expense. A warranty card
: is needed ONLY if you expect OMEGA to pay
: for a repair under the terms of the factory
: warranty... and for that to happen, the card
: must be properly filled out by an authorized
: dealer. Otherwise, that card is totally
: useless.

You are right on that, i just wasnt sure how you use the warranty card. Normally how long is the warranty effective thru Omega? 2 years? After the warranty passes, i will have to pay for repairs even if i acquired the watch from an authorized or unauthorized deler. But are they going to fix it for me after the warranty passes? Or they will only accept watches from authorized dealers for service and repairs? THats what i wanna know mostly. After my 2 years warranty from watchmaxx.com passes, what to do if it needs servicing?
