Thanks for your contribution and attention to detail. I am more and more convinced that there is 'something rotten in the state of Denmark' where mine is concerned. So I think I am going to contact the dealer concerned and see what he has to say.
Jeff, anyone, do you know someone who worked at Heuer at the time who might know the different specifications used on Monacos?
I hope people learn from my experience. The moral of the story? Its difficult determining who is an expert in life - as there are so few and so many imitations!! Bit like watches really!!
(No offence intended to people on this forum - simply referring to the fact that the watch was bought from a reputable expert, and was examined briefly by two 'dealers' in Brussels before money changed hands)
