Thanks again to everyone for their time on this. A great debate - if a little frustrating. Jef thanks for touching base with your contact at Heuer.
Lots of interesting parallels with the classic car world. Porsche made a 356 T6 cabriolet. Some of these were built under contract in Brussels. A small number at the end of production were made using assorted body panels from a range of 356 models. They are now ultra rare and highly collectable. Shame the same isn't true about my watch!! Another parallel - if you restore a classic car you usually replace all the damaged trim with as original trim right?
Anyway guys please continue its all useful stuff for collectors and wannabe collectors like myself.
