It's getting harder to get any 70s Carrera for under €1000. There are still some out there, but they take some searching and a little bit of luck.

I'd say €800 is about the bottom price for a 1153 and you'd expect there might be a few issues at that level. I'd still try sounding out the seller on those issues to see if there is any flexibility on price but I wouldn't expect it to drop a huge amount, if at all.

After that, it depends on how much you need the watch to be right - pushers can be found and even the Tachy rings turn up occasionally - you can try the Chronotrader forum here as well as the usual sources - eBay etc.
