Re: Monaco Gasket Goop: Study These Before You Open the Case

Hello to all,

I have had some "good" results with placing the whole watch in the freezer at -20° Celcius. Leave the watch for 24 hours in the freezer and then the gasket will be easier to handle, no that sticky anymore.

Ofcourse after this procedure movement needs complete service :-)

As outlined before...I had some positive result with this method.

Groetjes vanuit België,
Abel.

: I am planning to write this up, as a story of a bargain turned
: bad, but let me suggest that anyone thinking of buying a Monaco
: that may have a "melted gasket", or any amateur
: thinking of opening a Monaco case (where there is any doubt
: about the condition of the gasket), should have a quick look at
: these six photos.

: Details of the story and lots more of these photos, to follow soon,
: but I would say that these photos are "worth a thousand
: words" (and may save you a few thousand dollars).
