I like the re-editions- its through the modern TAG re-issues that I came to appreciate the older models and start down the path of watch collecting. I suspect that its the same for many people.

I think there are only two ways of doing an re-edition. 1) A faithful, exact copy (e.g. the first Carrera re-editions) or 2) A modern reinterpretation of a historic model- i.e. what would the Silverstone look like today if TAG had kept it in the line-up and refined and modernised it over the last 25 years.

It seems that anything that falls in between falls short of the mark.

I think that the example of the Porsche 911 was a good one- you wouldn't mistake today's 911 for any other car, yet its evolved a long way from the original and is in no way looks dated.
