Later models, including the Carreras, added the model name to the dial, as below:

If I recall correctly, the gold re-edition was only available without the Carrera name and only for a couple of years - the later solid-gold Carrera was a watch-only chronometer, not a chronograph.

Terry, Heuer has quite some form in offering Carreras in solid gold - both the original manuals and the subsequent automatics were available as - rare - solid gold models.

So there is some good history for Heuer to build on for the re-edition. I always thought it was a shame they didn't add "Heuer" to the dial but I suppose that prevented people passing them off as vintage.
