I visually checked and confirmed both of mine...

hmmm... my (black dial) Carrera re-edition doesn't have "1964 Heuer Carrera Re-edition" on the back - neither did the last new one (silver dial) that passed through my hands.

I visually checked and confirmed the backs on both of my examples (Black dial and Silver dial) before my initial posting. The only difference between the Black and Sliver dial backs is the Case Reference number (Black CS3111, Silver CS3110) and the actual serial numbers (my Black example is in the N° 069xx range, whilst my Silver example is in the N° 074xx range).

I don't have a ready explanation as to why your example has a different back unless, for example, your examples were initially sold overseas, while mine were sold in the US (as both of mine came from US sources).

But it's a mystery to me.

One day I'd like to get a Black Dial with the white Daytona Rings, but that might be tough with so few of them made.
