One warning for all of us: Life was simpler when we were only inspecting the dials, hands and cases . . . when we start examining the movements, and recognizing components from different versions, it all gets complicated. To paraphrase something that a wise man once told me, "If someone else owns it, then it's a 'Franken'. If I own it, then it's 'transitional'."
The nature of Heuer's manufacturing seems to be that many "transitional" pieces came out of the factory . . . parts seem to have been mixed and matched, across different eras. Still, I have enjoyed exploring the Cal 11 / 11-I / 12 / 15 world, and it has enhanced my collecting experience. Hopefully, it will be the same for other enthusiasts!!
