The 2447S (white-on-white) came fairly early in my collecting career, followed by the 2447SN (black registers on white dial) and the 2447 NS (white registers on black dial). The one that always escaped was the 2447N (black-on-black).
Well, the pursuit of the 2447N has ended, with the arrival of the fantastic sample (shown top left, in the family portrait, below). I will add some detailed photos soon, but key features are the hex-back, the Ed. Heuer marking on the movement and . . . drum roll, please . . . the lowest serial number that I have seen on a Carrera. So I am loving this one, and feel as though this portion of the collection is now complete.
