Re: White dialled Orange Boy..

Hello and Merry Christmas Stewart!
Gosh, I certainly wasn't trying to minimize Bullitt's rare discovery by my post. I was simply pointing out that the latter 11630 featured a similar model with a silver dial and also a very rare white dial, as pointed out by Ape in the past and on his website. In fact, I believe Ape commented "don't ask questions, just buy" if you ever come across one. That post now appears to be missing from his Autavia 11630 discussion on his nice website. Please note I didn't coin the phrase for the 11630 silver dial as a "Poor man's" Siffert. Look at the price guide on this wonderful website and you'll see it mentioned by our exceptional host/moderator/expert as a "Poor man's" Siffert:

B Autavia Automatic -- White or Silver Dial (Ref 11630) light dial with bright orange hands
SPY= 6
the "Poor Man's" Siffert, with orange trim rather than the blue of the Siffert

I think Bullitt's discovery is just terrific and reveals another unknown model we have not see before. These unusual discoveries are what keeps so many of us so fascinated with OnTheDash!

: Stephen,
: While the white dialed 11630 is rare, it is also a known model, and
: a few examples have been seen. Bullitt's matt white dialed 1163
: is/was almost unknown.
: The Siffert wasn't made in 11630 form, so 'poor mans Siffert' is
: kinda incorrect, if you see what I mean. (There is some strange
: logic to my thinking!!)
