Thanks for correcting this.

Interesting to ask why Heuer went with the name "Montreal" in 1972. "Expo 1967", the world's fair, had been held in Montreal in 1967 (which gave rise to the name of a baseball team, the Montreal "Expos"), and in May 1970 Montreal had been selected to host the 1976 Summer Olympics. So my guess is that Montreal was a city that was on something of a roll in 1972, and was viewed as a modern, cosmopolitan place, especially with the French influence. It was certainly getting a lot of attention in 1972, having been selected to host the Olympics.

It was a fine name for a modern chronograph, even if there if no motorsports connection!!
