I am guessing that the all-black bezel is coming from the art department, and not from the factory. We have never seen an all-black GMT bezel [although perhaps something similar on a later Argentina Air Force GMT . . . will need to check the files]; we have seen many instances of the art department doing its own thing, perhaps when the photos did not turn out as well as they had hoped.
