I can't add much, however I recently added one of these to the collection.

Looking at the 1979 catalogue and discussing with Stewart, we deduced that the larger lollipop hand was applied to the quartz version (as the catalogue shows the automatic version on the cover and the quartz inside). Pictures courtesy of OTD.

The original bezel shown in the catalogue is also very hard to come by. I was fortunate to find a Zentra 844 cased diver with the Monin bezel on eBay and managed to snag it. Sporting an original tropic, I'm very pleased with the overall comparison with the catalogue picture.
