A little mid-week entertainment:
Christian, from Theo & Harris, an (inexpensive) vintage watch dealer and blog, discusses "poor man's Heuers" and how he thinks they are grossly overpriced for no reason, in the most recent episode of his video series...
Now, I usually take the blog and these guys with a large grain of salt because their target market is very different, but it's sometimes interesting to hear a different perspective on things. And I realize it's kind of his thing to push buttons and shake things up a bit however, this young man has clearly never held a vintage Heuer Carrera. Now, maybe I'm being overly sensitive since I own one, but his facts about the "poor man's Carreras" are not only misleading they're just not true (and he thinks Autavias trade lower?). I don't have a problem with his estimation that the cheaper panda dial chronographs will keep rising in price, but to say things like:
So, get out while you can and liquidate those 2447s guys. I'll be generous and offer you $3k per good condition 2447 you have.
