Yes Jeff, I think it is accepted now that they are original and rarer than the usual sub reg style script, if to my eye "uglier".
I've seen quite a few over the years, so think there are more than 10, but must admit to never noting the serials which isn't very helpful! Would I pay more for one over the std Rindt, no. But that may not stop someone trying to sell one for more and someone thinking they are more valuable when buying one ;)

: the funny looking, rounded numerals on the dials. These dials
: are used in the second execution screw-back cases and are rare,
: as we have seen fewer than 10 of these, all in the 85xxx and
: 86xxx serial number range.
: Here is an image that shows the difference between the standard
: numerals on the early Autavia dials and these
: "rounded" numerals. We see an actual watch with the
: rounded numerals, as well as a photo / drawing from an
: advertisement.
