The coveted Skipperrera and the suddenly-in-demand Belgian air force Carrera are both powered by the 77xx series movements.

When collectors write the big checks for theses chronographs, I'm not sure that they worry about the (relatively poor) design / quality of the movement. It's the beauty / scarcity / mystique of these models that drive the price.

: What matters is whether the supply outstrips demand, so the dial

: 7730 (in the Skipperera) for example or the Landeron movements
: in the dato 3147 which are very much poor relatives of the
: Valjoux 72, but that doesn’t stop the Skipperera being worth
: much much more than a 2447S Carrera.
