In Response To: No. The best I can do is change spelling so that? (Chicagoland Chuck Maddox)

The chronocentric website specifies that messages should also comply with a certain etiquete. Messages posted by benie are insulting and abusive. What i posted was the truth and not a pack of lies. Once I realised what had happened, I did the honest thing and that was to refund the buyer and attempt to resolve my issue with bernie.

If Jeff and I didn't get involved in your and Berando's little spat some 2+ years ago, I am not certain why you expect us to do so at this late date. To be frank, I am not interested in an explanation.

This forum is neither a enforcement branch nor complaint department for eBay deals gone sour.

If you will not remove the posts, I would appreciate it if references to my name are removed.

You posted a demand to have enitre threads removed: Remove threads refering to my name Posted By: [DL][name changed by Moderator]Date: 7/12/06 15:17 GMT because you said "I was advised by my employer that a google search reveals links to this site (third entry) and this is causing me some stress and problems."

I told you in my previous message I have done the best I can do. I believe my reply is a pretty self explanitory.

Your concern was that your employer could find the thread via a google search. There is nothing I can do about what Google has on their site. I have no affiliation with Google other than I use their search engine like most people do. I have no pull with them, I can't change what's on their site. I have however, at the waste of well over an hour of my personal time, modified every occurance of the name [DL][name changed by Moderator] prior to this thread to a string of text that is difficult and not intuitive to type. This will in future keep the posts in question from showing up via a Google (or any other search engine) search result, once Google's refresh cycle occurs, as I pointed out in my previous post. That is unless someone is going to go through the trouble of doing a search with the specific punctuation I used to replace the name [DL][name changed by Moderator], which wouldn't seem likely.

I crafted a solution that addresses the concern of your demand: "I was advised by my employer that a google search reveals links to this site (third entry) and this is causing me some stress and problems.", I have stated this is the best I can do, and far from being appreciative you want more.

It's not my job nor my responsibility to follow people around and white out the aspects of their past actitivies that causes them some stress and problems. I have no idea how anyone would come to believe that is part of my duties and responsibilities.

If you look through the thread my name was linked to this whole sorted affair and I had -ZERO- Involvement in the transaction(s) in question. I had never had any commerical, financial nor eBay transactions with either of you. I have been known as "Chicagoland Chuck Maddox" for years and years, here, at Chronocentric, TimeZone, Watch-U-Seek and other places. This foolishness has linked my good name to this sorted affair.

If I'm not going to white wash it for my personal benefit, I would think it'd be pretty self-evident I'm not going to expunge history for anyone elses benefit.

I understand how the internet works and the responsibilities of users members of the community and moderators.

It wouldn't seem so, for if you did we wouldn't be where we are at.

The issue here is that the forum contains information that is defamatory, offensive and untrue.

Which wasn't a problem for the nearly 26 months since this original thread.

The posts relate to an event that happened years ago which (though no fault of my own) is still causing me stress (even though i was the party that suffered the injustice).

Two years, one month, about three weeks and change ago by my reaconing.

The events that happened all those months ago where not of any fault of mine nor Jeff's either. Nor was it through any action or inaction on my part that my good name was dragged through the mud as part of the fallout from you two's deal gone sour. In addition to the BS that y'all put us through back then, you've wasted well over two hours of my personal time this time around. You wouldn't be very happy if I billed you at my standard rate.

You're not happy with my efforts.

Fine, I can live with that. But I'm not going to do any more than I have done, including modifing any more posts for you.

If you don't like it, fine. Feel free to take it up with Jeff via email. I have no problems with you doing that, if he wants to do more, that's his decision and I can live with that too. But I'm not going to modify your name on any more of your posts, nor erase your actions in this forum.

I'm done with it. Live with it or don't. I've done the best I am willing to do and explained it twice. There won't be a change from me nor a third explanation. I'm done with this.
