let's all look at this on the bright side -- for the first time in almost 35 years, we have a black-cased Monaco. Look at the 40th Anniversary blue McQueen -- everything is stripped away, and it looks very similar to what we had in 1969. I am optimistic that we will see a more "classic" looking black-cased Monaco, like our beloved PVD guy. Heuer is moving in the right direction, back to its history, back to its heriatge. Realize that the big sellers right now have this decoration (colors, screws, stripes, etc.); look at the Monaco Le Mans / Gulf watches. TAG-Heuer must make this type of watch, to sell in 2009. Sometimes, we find ourselves too deep in 1969 (or 1975).
We can hope that TAG-Heuer will strip away many of these 2009-style extras and create a "classic" version, for the vintage enthusiasts, for those who prefer timeless iconic design. Looking at the 40th Anniversary McQueen, I am optimistic. How about you?
