I've had stuff from Japan in less than 3 days via EMS, so I guess it depends on the service at the originating end too.

The tracking was fine too - the one time I had a problem, the package appeared never to have got off the plane(!), so the vendor sent a replacement immediately without even waiting for the insurance claim to come through. But that's more about the integrity of the seller than the shipping service, I suppose.
