Nasty Looking Refinish / "Carrera" Written Over "Monaco" ? ?
In Response To: shame on Antiquorum... ()

Yes, the hands are wrong, and this refinished dial should not have been too difficult for the folks at Antiquorum to detect . . . the "Carrera" has been written over some other word. Unbelievable as it may seem, could the refinisher first have made this dial into a "Monaco", and then realized that it was more likely to pass as a "Carrera"?

Let me report this to my best contact at Antiquorum, and we'll see where it ends up.

Jeff
