Hour Needle Should be Orange

Jim:

Great photographs!!

According to my best source, the needle on the hour recorder should be the orange (to match the two other chronograph hands), and not black. On the very early ones, this hour needle was white, but Heuer never used the black needle on this recorder.

: Thought these two pics would be interesting
: side by side. So the question is what is the
: correct color for the hour subdial at 6
: o'clock: red or black?

: These models are by far my most favorite
: Heuers. Great case, very heavy and large.
: Great finish. Excellent movement. Sturdy
: crystal. I also like the 5100 in the Porsche
: Design and Sinn models as well. Maybe a
: group pic is in order to really show off the
: geneology.

: TWINS: (yes, I know the bracelet on the left is
: not correct, and is my daily beater also due
: to the faded hands, rough case and scratched
: crystal)
