In a word, DON'T DO IT!!
In Response To: To Monaco or not to Monaco ()

Ok, so that's 3 words but you get my gist. I found myself in a similar position last year. I wanted a Monaco as an everydayer and bought a CS2110. Didn't like it and got rid of it. Bought a CS2111. Didn't like it and got rid of it. I even bought a 69 flip but didn't like it and got rid of it. I toyed with the 'McQueen' CW2113 but knew that if I did, I'd still hanker for the real thing. It's just an opinion but if I were you, I'd get a vintage all the way. As Rich put it, it's the engineering, and the sheer beauty in the flesh of the case and dial design and the ability to change colour in different lights. The only 'new' Monaco that might tempt me to stray these days is the 2009 1000 piece LE but even then, I don't think it's worth the asking prices. If you like the new grey LE Monaco why don't you think about a 73633G/B?? They're a great way to get into the Monaco club and I love em.

It's your money though my friend but spend it wisely...

-: I'll admit, I wasn't a big fan of the Monaco. Before you burn me at
: the stake, I think I've come around to loving it.

: My Heuer journey began with what I knew, and that was and still is
: divers. But being part of this lil community has opened up a
: love for other Heuer watches, like the Autavias and other
: mechanical marvels. I appreciate other models, but don't like
: them. Take the Silverstone - beautiful watch, but I can't stand
: it. MAybe in years to come it'll be one of my favourites, who
: knows.

: Anyway, back to the Monaco. Yep, this big ugly square thing that
: everyone goes on about has started to draw me in. It's starting
: to look beautiful. Although the brain-washing of this site has
: lead me to believe that it comes with a multi coloured
: friendship bracelet, a glass of cognac and a cigar ;0)
: So, I'm thinking about selling off a few from my collection to make
: room for one. There is one thing that gets in the way - the new
: soon to be released Monaco Grey LE (badged Heuer, not TAG
: Heuer)... I think it's gorgeous, but it's not vintage. This
: leads me on further, it's not vintage, so why not consider the
: first (cw2113) TAG Heuer blue 'Mcqueen' Monaco, which could be
: had for $2000ish (which would allow some funds to be spent on
: cognac/cigars, getting a nice tan and a colourful bracelet) -
: I'm seriously considering it... is this a bad thing?
