A couple of observations from my experience with this model
In Response To: Not Much to Compare . . . ()

Hi Jeff,
a great duo you have there, these 1-24 bezeled 1163's are my preferred Auto GMT ( i was wearing one when my son was born last October ).
There are a couple of lovely quirks i have noted with my experience of these watches.
The bent tip seconds hands for the chrono are a lovely burnt orange colour (one of my all time favourite Heuer micro details) . It looks as if it may have started life more red and faded back to this shade. It is, infact, the same shade as the seconds hand on my paintless wonder Chronomatic Monaco & when checking out your paintless wonder online, i see the same thing has happened to it also.
My next point is that the 2 versions i've owned of the 1-24 bezel GMT have been GF bracelet marked at 3/70 & 4/70 respectively. Both with 2055xx serial numbers and both with HLD end links for the bracelet.
Enjoy your new find, i'm definately going to get my one out in honour - Darren

-: Based on a quick inspection, I would say that the only
: difference between the two is the serial number . . . all else
: seems to be identical (including the somewhat "bent toward
: the end" time-of-day hands).

: Both these are unmolested original-owner watches.

: The new guy has a 1/71 bracelet, which came with the watch, so this
: one allows us to peg a serial number (2055xx) to a date (1/71) .
: . . a thrill for all the SN freaks!!

: Jeff
