You are immediately the copyright holder of any picture you take.
The greater issue is your ability to prove it in a court of law.
You can send copies of pictures to one of many services that will catalog and provide affidavits of production date in the event of legal action.
As this is not likely to happen, just write Copyright 2011 and your name on your photos.
