David, this is an interesting footnote. You refer to the dial as a "service" dial which would be correct. The original did suffer quite badly over time and we see a number of them in poor condition especially the blue sub register that tended to bubble and degrade. My example has some signs of this. So there must have been a demand for the service dial which was also used in the first re-edition. The other indicator of the service dial is the modern lume and the omission of the T after Swiss Made. Thanks for adding this additional information.
