Sorry to Be Arriving Late / 1163 or 11630?

Sorry to be arriving late, and blurting out a question, without going through prior messages, but here is my question: The 1972 catalog lists a 11630P, not a 1163P. [I am more interested in the listing than the illustration, as the illustration probably came from the art department, rather than the watchmakers.]

By definition, the 11630 will have a mineral crystal, rather than a plastic crystal. Have we ever seen a 1163P in a catalog or any literature (price list, etc.)? On a technical level, do we think Heuer could have built this kind of diving watch with the then-existing 1163 construction (plastic crystal / thinner tension ring)? I don't know the answer / just asking the question.

: I have been very busy lately and unable to get to my safety box to
: collect this watch and take more detailed photo's so i'm afraid
: you will have to make do with the photo's i already had on file.
: From the previous thread about the 1163P Diver a couple of days ago
: it was Shaun's (2 truths and 1 lie) post that was most relative
: to this watch.
: I too had seen the 1972 calalog photo of the 1163P diver with this
: decompression bezel in place but also noted that my watch has
: the Orangeboy style steel baton hour markers where the catalog
: version has the full lume applied markers.
: I'm left with more questions than answers in this case.

: - What do people think - was the applied lume version from the
: catalog produced?
: - Did they use the Orangeboy version dial i have instead when it
: came to production?
: - Any other theories ?
: - I'd really like to see any others out there, does anyone have one
: to show. Can you show the same decomp bezel i have in place?
: - Is the bezel simply an option, such as the deci-version, which
: customers could order for their Autavia?

: I replied the other day saying that i think of my watch as an
: Orangeboy with a decomp bezel in place, hopefully with a little
: feedback from the forum we can help clear this mystery up.
: Cheers - Darren
