That's very interesting Jeff.
I was reading yesterday (I forget the site - may JLC based), a forum discussion regarding 'imported into France' (or imported from Suisse - I can't remember - but in French) text that was on some watch dials. The photos suggested that these markings were added by the retailers, as they were pretty poor quality when compared against the factory dial script.
I know this isn't a direct help to your knowledge of 'Fab. Suisse', but it does shed some light on the odd way that France was behaving towards imported goods.
