In Response To: Oldest Valjoux 72 in a Heuer? ()

Wow . . . what a beautiful old Heuer!!

Here's my oldest Heuer chronograph that is powered by the V72; notice the "flat" Heuer logo. My watchmaker told me that this one has a very early V72 movement.

Mine has SN 450125 on the movement; appears that you also have a 450xxx serial number on the movement [maybe 450617?]; so yours may be slightly younger than mine. Can you please confirm your SN? I'm not sure about the SN inside the case-back; this one does not like to be opened!

: I just finished servicing a very nice original Heuer with a very
: early R72 movement. The owners father passed away last year and
: he wanted to have it restored and also find out its age. There
: was no documentation with the watch. This is the earliest R72
: that I have ever seen. The cal ref # is stamped on the top plate
: instead of under the balance bridge seen on most of these
: movements. The serial number is 57706. Anyone know the age? Any
: other info welcome. Thanks
