: look....not vintage. As a dealer, I know that some people like
: to make their vintage watches look....perfect...new and will
: refinish them and that some people are like me and want to keep
: the "patina". Therefore, I never refinish watches.
: Keeping them original gives my eventual buyer the option of
: doing whatever he or she wants. Refinishing takes away the
: option. No matter how good a refinish job is...it is
: never...ever original...ever....and you can never go back.

: The only exception I make is with Rolex and I only make that
: exception with modern or after mid '60s Rolex. People have
: gotten really good at putting a factory finish on a Rolex and
: most buyers seem to want them refinished.

Thanks John, Opinion well taken! The it can only be original once statement is used with vinatge cars as well. I suppose the thing to do is buy the best original watch your money can buy.
