Re: What do you say when someone says "Nice TAG"?

I know what you mean. To be honest, I get embarrassed if someone mentions Heuer, but actually says 'Her', then when have to say it, I say it I say 'Hoy-er'.
Best thing to do is just accept the compliment, they know no better, so they'll think you're being pompous. Some people say TAG as 'targ' - I say 'tag'.

At the end of the day, you can look upon the merger of TAG & Heuer as a bad thing, I do & I don't - I try to remember that TAG was a cool brand in it's own right, with motorsport roots. Yes, we may see it as a bad thing now, but it's all part of Heuers history.

At least we don't collect JLCs, I think that's probably much worse for pronunciation.

: I don't know how many of you face this problem from time to time:
: You are introduced to someone and they compliment your vintage
: Heuer by saying "ooh nice TAG!"
: That always gives me a twinge between the shoulder blades.
: Do you just smile and nod and say thanks? Or do you nerd out and
: say "well actually it's a vintage Heuer from before it was
: TAG Heuer." Would be curious to hear how other people
: handle this. Usually I just smile and say thanks...but the
: temptation to nerd out is always there.
