I understand that to you and your helper, it's just an old watch. Whether they all look alike to you, or they are just another fee, I don't know. But to me, it's not just an old watch. It's my old watch.

I came to you because I needed my watch serviced, and was told you did a good job. And you did. But I also asked you not to polish my watch. I told you just clean, oil and timing, but no polishing the case. You told me "no problem." You wrote it on the ticket.

When I picked up the watch, your helper proudly told me all the work done, including polishing the case. I tried to explain to your helper why I didn't want the case polished, and your helper informed me that my concerns were silly. It was just an old watch, and it certainly looked better to him.

I don't care whether it looked better to him. I don't care whether it looks better to you either. This was my watch. You don't get a vote. You have caused damage to this old watch, and yet you seem incapable of either grasping this fact or caring. Your explanation, that if I want a brushed finish, you can fix it with another wheel, isn't the point. And no, it won't "fix it."

I told you not to polish the case. You did it anyway. And you don't have the slightest clue why any of this is a problem. I will not be back. I will tell others not to go to you. You should not be allowed anywhere near an old watch ever again.
