SomeThoughts at the road ahead...

good luck ! with Chuck at the helm it can't help but be a GREAT ride !

We are just getting up a head of steam, but already I sense good things for this site.

Thanks to Jeff we already have a site that can stand toe-to-toe with the best fan watch sites out there. Much of this is due to the content that Jeff has developed, much is due to the efforts of Derek Ziglar. And that is what this is about... Doing this and doing it in the way the subject matter deserves. For the products of Heuer (and TAG-Heuer too) deserve a great deal of respect within and outside of the watch collecting community. Respect that heretofore they have not received.

In speaking with Jeff, I know that he doesn't wish to be the next (or another) (fill in name of watch site here) ... Jeff wants OnTheDash to be the place on the web to talk about Heuer. We've talked about possibile contingincies for the future in terms of growth. We want to grow our base of knowledge on our choosen subject and share it in a manner that everyone else has to work their tails off to keep their sites competitive in their choosen spheres of interest. After all you aren't what you know, you are what knowledge you share with others. We also wish to have nothing but friendly and cooperative relationships with other watch related sites out there. For there are many many great people out there in the watch community and we want to make a place within the community. We wish to compete with the quality of our content, because, like in the racing community, competition improves the breed.

We are currently working on a number of items behind the scenes that will be absolutely breathtaking when we have them in presentable form. One project in particular will absolutely make fans of other brands jealous at the gap that exists in their equivelent resource, the Speedmaster crowd in particular. I'm a member of the Speedmaster crowd, am working on this Heuer related project and _I_ am so jealous! The closest Speedmaster equivelent is simply not in the same league, and I created that one! =^o......... You'll see when we have our act together a little bit more on that one. But there are other things in the works as well.

An aside... One of my all time favorite songs is Charlie Daniels Band's "Carolina"... In it Charlie speaks what I've always considered the most profound six word phrase ever spoken: "Christmas always seemed so far away". When you think back to when you were a kid (Well, ok, if you were raised in a family that celebrated Christmas) you'll understand what I mean.

This year is going to be like the Holiday season for Heuer fan. The wait may seem long, but I'm confident it will be big and very memorable.

P.S. Thanks Jerry for the kind words, it's great to see you visit!
